So I was re-watching Memento tonight and I am like damn this is some GOOD sh*t. What do you think the Best Movie of the last several years is? And WHY?

I'm going to say the Shawshank Redemption, although I have several movie favs. This one had great acting, some real memorable moments, and some sympathetic characters. The music is pretty good too. And the fact that it was snubbed for every one of its Oscar nominations makes it kind of an underdog.
EDIT: I just realized this is technically a 1994 movie, so it just escapes the "last 10 years" thing. However, if you count the re-release, ti works.
My personal favorite movie of the last 10 years is Rushmore, but that's me.

Rushmore is fucking awesome. Great choice. Another movie that I loved that doesn't get the hype it should is Almost Famous by Cameron Crowe.

Im gonna say American Beauty, just because I'm mainly just a horror fan and there isn't a lot going on lately, but that movie is truely underrated for all the stuff that it covered and it's true message.

Yeah it is. And watching it with my friend the other day, he remarked that everyone has secrets and is kinda a bad guy and you can't really root for anyone. I agree with that too a point, but it also makes for a good movie when a lot is going on.

Rushmore is a great choice. I also like Memento and would add Frailty to the list.

I know this is really early to say and jumping the gun, but I'd say Wicker Park may go down as one of the better movies of this era. I know it's way too new and all, but all the mass confusion and the way the plot all twists to get to the strggled climax is the story of a classic. Opinions?

Sin City is my choice, although I was tempted to go for Fight Club.
Thought they got across the comic book and film noir feel that they were looking for, with some great performances, from Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis especially.

Another movie from the last 10 years I recommend is Trainspotting.

Ok, i am reading this, and really wandering why American History X is not on the list. It is an amazing story, with great acting and morals, although a bit disturbing and gross. I would also vote for Mississippi Burning, and The Crow. Wait cancel that its from 94 but it still kicked ass
