College.
For several reasons, first of all the atmosphere surrounding a college game is just more exciting than a pro game (at least in the south).
Secondly, with college each game means more. If you lose one game then there is a chance that your season is over (as far as National Title dreams go). If you lose 2 you are done. In the pros, you can realisitically lose 6 games and still win the Super Bowl.
Third, for the most part these kids haven't been jaded by money and fame and are playing with their heart and soul. Personally I would just rather watch someone who is playing for the love of the game then the almighty dollar (insert booster joke here).
Fourth, the rivalries have more history than in the pros and also a seemingly deeper rooted hatred/dislike for one another.
I guess those are my major reasons. Growing up in the south we live and breathe college football and ultimately it's the atmosphere of the college game and the one-and-done that makes it more enjoyable to me than the pros.

I said Pro.
I just am more into Pro Football for some reason. While College Football IS great, the fact is the BEST players are in the pros.
I'm a huge fan of the Browns and the Buckeyes, but I would choose a Browns game over a Buckeyes game ANY DAY of the week.
Oh, and the Brownies are 1-0 BITCHES!

Oh, and the Brownies are 1-0 BITCHES! So are the Falcons, it doesn't mean that they are worth a sh*t.

Yeah, but NO ONE expected the Browns to beat the Ravens.
Everyone was saying "oh, the Ravens have the best defense in the league." But we DOMINATED them.
But yeah, we will probably lose every other game this season.

LOL, he didn't have ONE interception OR tackle.
Though, it wasn't really his fault. The ball was just never thrown his way. I'm sure he will have a pretty good season
Ray Lewis didn't do much either, and I'm also sure he will have a great season.

I voted for college. While I think football in general is the second most boring professional sport in the world (first being NASCAR), at least college games are free if I have nothing else to do ;D

Its a toss up for me. I love the buck-eyes then i love the colts and like the redskins. The college kids have more desire but pro is more fun to watch.
In response to rick. You must not get the game to well to think its boring. You really have to A. know the sport well or B. play it to truly enjoy watching. I don't know the sport well but most of my time in the fall is dedicated to the sport and relaxing on sunday and watching it is just awsome cause u know the whole mind set and pschology and what kind of play they will run. NASCAR sucks

Oh I played a season in highschool just to give it a shot and it was still boring as hell. I've played soccer my whole life and football is painstakingly boring for me to watch and play. I don't get what's so fun about watching/playing a game where they do absolutlying nothing 95% of the time. I'd think differently about it if you just picked up the ball and went, but no. You make a 3 second play, set up the next play for a minute, do another three second play, switch out your ENTIRE field, etc.
Oh, and that one game a week thing is bull crap. Hockey plays multiple games a week and they go balls to the wall 100% the entire game. Football players are glorified pussies playing a boring, overrated sport. I don't care how awesome you are at catching a ball, Ichiro does it 4/5 days a week.

Always has been, always will be. I think some of it is tradition. And honestly the Northwest really doesn't have a tradition of football. The South has the SEC which has been around forever. The Northeast and Midwest have the NFL. St. Louis/New York/Boston/Chicago have baseball tradition. It's really a function of where you were raised IMO.

While the Northwest is obviously a huge baseball (go Ichiro!) and soccer hot zone, there's still a bazillion football fans with an emphasis on college teams. We have just as many idiots up here claiming their school/team is better than somebody else's because their star player can run 6 feet further or their offensive lineman ate twenty more boxes of twinkies in the off season so nobody can get past him. While I don't doubt that football is bigger in the south, it's by no means something taken lightly up here. I guess I just don't understand how a sport can become something followed like a religion or whatnot. I love playing all sorts of sports (sans football) and they're fun as hell, but I play for the fun of the game which is something I think has been vastly lost by most people, especially younger kids. I also don't get how you can take a sport so seriously that you vicariously live and speak through your favorite player/team. The whole "we lost/won" thing cracks me the hell up when people refer to their team as "we."

The whole "we lost/won" thing cracks me the hell up when people refer to their team as "we." That's why I said you are not from the south. College Football is a religion down here. Stadiums are packed full of 100,000 fans and even more who tailgate from the crack of dawn and even more who watch the game at bars, or their home. You truely will never understand it until you experience a college atmosphere at somewhere like UGA, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, or some school in the south. It's larger than life. People identify with the programs because they have followed them so closely over the years and have grown up with them. They have shared in their disappointments and in their victories. I have always been a huge UGA fan in all sports. I have gone to games where we beat Kentucky in basketball and huge teams in football. It's just fun to follow and watch. There is a competitive spirit in sports and as fans we identify with players and teams just like in wrestling. I'm sure that when you watch wrestling you have someone that you consider "your guy". Not in the context of forbidden love but in the context of this guy is "it" and you want to see him succeed in every way in his sport. Same thing with pro sports.

I can see the similarity you're trying to draw with wrestling, but wrestling is different because everything is predetermined. Granted it takes loads of athletic ability to wrestle, I should know because I'm training, but pulling for my favorite wrestler is a completely different feeling to me than say hoping Ichiro (go Ichiro!) beats the all time hits record this season. CIMA grabbing the ODG belt is exciting to me, but watching an athlete accomplish something in a competetive sport is different. I love watching Mariners games, but I will never refer to the Mariners as "we." Hell, I go to Oregon State and never ever refer to any of Oregon State's sports teams as "we." I guess I just rather make my own accomplishments than revel in those of others. I've always rather do than watch.
