I'm referring to the awesome Packers-Colts game going on. It was hyped all week as a possible classic and thats what it's becoming. One of the all time best QB's vs. The current best in the game. Farve has been really stuggling the past few weeks and fans are now saying he should hang it up after this year. What I wanna know from you guys is..With Peyton's performance (around 400 yrds and 5 TD's and it aint even over) is this sorta the crowning of a new best in the NFL, and do you thing Peyton has earned it?
I certainly do, seeing as I've watched him since Tennessee and in every TV game since. Farve is a soldier and a legend, but Peyton is king right now, and may finally win a SB this year.
Thoughts?

I shall be talking to you in early February then lol. Honestly though, outside of Baltimore, NE, and Philly, I'd say they have the 4th best shot of winning it. Peyton was one contrversial call away from a Super Bowl game last year, and I can guarentee he'll be close again this year, barring injury.
On another note, words don't describe that game today. Easily the best game this year so far, and an early Game of the Year contender.

Baltimore is defnatly not a contender. They have been hyped quite nicely but to be honest jamal lewis sucks this year and will be out for like 3 weeks with his cocaine case. There defense isn't as good as it is hyped. They have no offensive production. The seahawks are a contender. Im a colts fan by the way lol.

The Ravens are DEFINETLY a contender IMO. Their defense is ALMOST where it was in their SB victory year (Reed, Suggs, Lewis, McCalister are unstoppable) and the offense is better than it was under Dilfer. Boller is moble, and considering Heap and Taylor are out he's doing way better than he should be. Lewis definetly doesn't suck, he entered the year with court peoblems and injuries, which is what got him off to a slow start. However, the 15 carries for 186 shows that he's still one of the leagues best, Bangles D or not.

When I look at the league right now there are only 2 teams that I see as locks for the Playoffs:
Philadelphia New England
Then you have the next tier of teams: Indianapolis Minnesota
Then you have teams that have huge question marks (they could be great or not so good but they are 3-0): Seattle Atlanta Jacksonville
And a whole bunch of teams that are 2-1 but I don't know much about them: Denver Oakland Baltimore Pitt NY Jets (2-0) New Orleans Detriot NY Giants
It's really wide open IMO and this reminds me that I have Primetime TIVO'd and need to watch it before the weekend.

"When I look at the league right now there are only 2 teams that I see as locks for the Playoffs:

Yes they are both locks, but I think there are several other locks, mainly the ones I called SB contenders. 2 of those main contenders are right here.
"Then you have the next tier of teams: Indianapolis Minnesota"
Both easily playoff locks, and Indy could take the SB if they can knock off NE. Minnesota will make the playoffs and do well but I don't think they have a deep run in them, due to lack of depth and Moss' attitude.
"Then you have teams that have huge question marks (they could be great or not so good but they are 3-0): Seattle Atlanta Jacksonville"
Seattle is always a threat, because of Hasselbeck and Alexander. They arent a team built to go deep in the playoffs, but always be successful and compile a good record (ala Minnesota). Team Vick (err Atlanta) is always competitive due to Vick being a god. 2 years ago, they went into Lambo and beat GB, which isnt often done. They have a good chance to go far. Jacksonville has the leagues 2nd best defense but no offense. If Leftwich was half as good this year as he was last year, they'd have a huge chance, but he's struggling bad.
"And a whole bunch of teams that are 2-1 but I don't know much about them: Denver Oakland Baltimore Pitt NY Jets (2-0) New Orleans Detriot NY Giants"
Oakland is old, and Denver seems to be missing something big, I dont think they will be in the playoffs. NYG is also depending on Warner being healthy, so I'm up in the air on them. NO always finds a way to sell themselves short at the last possible second. Williams is keeping Detroit up, but they need Rogers. I have faith that Big Ben can help Pit stay up for Tommy and they'll be playoff bound. Ditto for Pennington and Moss for the Jets.
There's my NFL breakdown LOL.

Boller has one of the worse qb ratings in the league. All the other play off contenders you mentioned were in the top 10. Jamal lewis won't have newere near the yards he had last year. He is on an every two year shedule... people forgot bout him wich helped lead to all his yards. Their defense is good but not what it is hyped up to be. If they wanted to prove that they were all what they were hyped up to be they would've beaten the browns on opening day. They should have absolutly creamed them. Credit its also the beggining of the year and all our statements are basically assumptions.

Yeah pretty much, but some things are very easy to tell (minus injuries of course). Yet still, I think the raven's will come out again as division champs (coming from a HUGE Steeler fan) and be a big threat. Lewis is way too good, and makes everyone play better. Lewis will be fine, and while he won't bust out a 2,000 yard year as he was near last year, he'll be over 1000 IMO, which is still harder to do than it looks, barring further injury.

All the steelers need is a big spark and they will do as well as they did a few years ago. To me personally the ravens havn't shown me enough to prove that are play off worthy. Credit i havn't watched them yet this year but from the highlights they have looked very underwelming

The Ravens looked very good in their win against Cincy last week, even moreso on defense but Boller just did what he had to do to win, pretty or not. I don't see whats making you hesitant at all on Baltimore.
As far as PIT goes, I'm happy to have another encourager on the board. I think Ben did quietly well last week and if he can keep us afloat while Tommy's gone, PIT can be very dangerous come playoff time if they can get more use out of Randle El (seeing as Burress blows).

Ben was VERY impressive this week and made his throws well. However, for this year, this is Tommy's team to lead when he returns.
Ravens looked OK from the half I saw, but the D was a HUGE letdown letting Priest (understandable), Trent, and Blaylock go for over 200 combined.
