1 New England Patriots
They get to see their old friend, Drew Bledsoe, Sunday in Buffalo with a chance to tie the NFL record for consecutive victories and stay unbeaten.
2 Philadelphia Eagles
Has the addition of Terrell Owens really meant that much to Donovan McNabb? He is having a wonderful season so far, so maybe he does.
3 Indianapolis Colts
It is hard to believe I'm writing this, but the Colts play a huge early game at Jacksonville on Sunday. A loss puts them essentially three behind after four weeks.
4 Seattle Seahawks
The improvement of the defense makes this a legit Super team. We knew the offense would score, but Ray Rhodes has that defense balling.
5 Minnesota Vikings
Injuries are depleting this team, but somehow they fought through them against the Bears, thanks again to the offense.
6 Jacksonville Jaguars
Moving on up. Are they for real? Check back Sunday at about 4 p.m. after their date with Peyton Manning.
7 Denver Broncos
We take for granted they will always run the ball. When they don't, if they can still win, like they did last Sunday, it's a big plus.
8 Atlanta Falcons
Words of advice: Don't score six points against Carolina and expect to win. Then again, Michael Vick has big days against the Panthers.
9 New York Jets
Off to a 2-0 start, was the bye week good for the Jets? Probably not, but it will be interesting to see how this young team responds off of it.
10 Baltimore Ravens
Jamal Lewis was back to his big-run ways, which keeps the pressure off Kyle Boller. And we know the defense will come up with the big plays.
11 Carolina Panthers
The week off helps in healing some bumps and bruises heading into a key division game with undefeated Atlanta.
12 Green Bay Packers
Oh, that defense. The Packers couldn't come close to slowing down Peyton Manning. If it stays that way, Brett Favre and Ahman Green better put it in overdrive again and again.
13 New Orleans Saints
Winning in overtime in St. Louis could prove to be a major moment for this young team, especially quarterback Aaron Brooks. Now they have to avoid a toe stub in Arizona.
14 Pittsburgh Steelers
It goes into the victory column, but their victory over Miami wasn't pretty. Does it matter? That's the Pittsburgh way, and even more so with a rookie quarterback.
15 Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are 2-1 and that's a testament to Bill Parcells. He is doing a wonderful job with Vinny Testaverde.
16 Tennessee Titans
Something isn't right with these Titans. They normally don't get punched in the mouth in the fourth quarter at their stadium. Is it too much attrition over the years?
17 Washington Redskins
Joe Gibbs must have forgotten about clock management when he was away from the game. That might have cost his team a victory, so even the great ones have lapses.
18 Detroit Lions
Even at 2-1, they're off to a good start. But it will take time to compete with teams like the Eagles.
19 St. Louis Rams
When the Rams lose at home, that's a sign of trouble. Is this the end of the Rams that we've known for the past five seasons?
20 New York Giants
Tom Coughlin's rules don't seem so trivial anymore, do they? He has this team playing good football. The G-men are 2-1, climbing way out of the bottom of these rankings.
21 Oakland Raiders
Nobody likes to see players hurt, but the loss of Rich Gannon will be good for this team. Kerry Collins is the better player.
22 Kansas City Chiefs
Now we know why Dick Vermeil cries. Watching this team, and especially that defense, will make a lot of coaches weepy, unless you're an opposing offensive coordinator.
23 Cincinnati Bengals
So much for that playoff push. We thought the Bengals would take a step back this year before taking one forward next season. It looks like that will be the case.
24 Houston Texans
A big road victory means if they beat Oakland on Sunday David Carr will cut his hair. Let's hope they win, so he sheds that mop of a hairdo.
25 Cleveland Browns
Really now, is that Jeff Garcia or Tim Couch playing quarterback? Hard to tell the difference, isn't it?
26 Chicago Bears
Let's put it this way, Jonathan is no mighty Quinn. Now that Rex Grossman is gone for the year, so are the Bears' .500 chances.
27 Buffalo Bills
Can Bledsoe break the Patriots' streak in what would be poetic justice? Or are the Bills really that bad on offense? Didn't the bye week outscore them by a field goal?
28 Miami Dolphins
They have one thing going for them in their 0-3 season: At least they're not the Bucs.
29 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Has it only been 20 months since this team won a Super Bowl? Wow, not that long ago.
30 San Diego Chargers
It is time to go to Philip Rivers for the good of the franchise in the long term. Neither Drew Brees nor Doug Flutie is the answer.
31 San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers were shut out. Wow. The streak had to end sometime, but it might not be the last time this season they get skunked.
32 Arizona Cardinals
The offense isn't getting it McDone. Maybe it's time to make a change and sit down Josh McCown.
