1. The Falcons dumped some cap space today as they released Corey Hall, Travis Hall and Ed Jasper. No big loss there besides Jasper who said he was going to retire anyway. This frees up $5 million and McKay says he wants the defense to get younger and faster. Sounds good to me.
2. The Bravos signed up pitcher Tim Hudson to a 4-yr contract extension today. YEAH~!
3. High School basketball is in full effect and the South Gwinnett Comets, ranked in the Top 10 nationally and undefeated in Ga this year and had a game televised nationally on the deuce, got upset in the State semis. Now the Georgia Bulldogs faithful will watch and see if Louis Williams decides to make good on his verbal commitment to go to Georgia or if he decides to go to the NBA where he could be a lottery pick (Williams had 44 in the loss and teammate PG Mike Mercer has also signed with the Dawgs). Anyone who follows College BBall knows that UGA is awful this year due to only having a limited number of scholarship players on the roster (none of which are upclassmen). The Dawgs season next year (although they will be better regardless) rides on the shoulders of the decision made by Louis Williams, who is rated as the number 2 recuit by rivals.com.
