Top 10:
1. Indianapolis 4-0
The best offense in the land, beats a very solid Jets team in a game of the week. It's gonna be a long time before they lose.
2. Chicago 4-0
Wallop a very good Seattle team in quick fashion. Great Defense now has a high powered offense. As long as Rex stays healthy, they are a title game contender.
3. Baltimore 4-0
Find a way to win against a game San Diego team. That defense has always been one of the elites, but now with McNair winning in the clutch, they are dangerous as ever. Pittsburgh better win soon or they will be beaten out of the playoffs.
4. Seahwaks 3-1
They got victimized by one of the top D's, but they still have a pro bowl running back and a great passing game. Still the NFC's second best team right now.
5. Patriots 3-1
They beat a good Jets team, then stumbled against Denver, and now they crush one of the best offenses in the league. And Brady is Brday, that can't be changed. This team is still one of the best.
6. Bangles 3-1
So the Pats took them out, but they were without Henry. He'll be back next week, and so will they. The NFL still doesn't realize how dangerous and dynamic they are.
7. Eagles 3-1
Without a rediculous loss to the Giants, they are a top 3 team. McNabb is as good as ever, the defense is fast, and even without Stallworth the field has opened up for them. A major NFC threat.
8. Chargers 3-1
Would be undefeated if they had held Baltimore down for one more possession. LT and Gates are the best in the league at their positions and Marriman is a manchild. As long as Rivers continues to manage, they are a playoff team.
9. Saints 3-1
Played a healthy Carolina team really tough, and both sides of the ball continue to improve. Weather they can make the playoffs is still in the air, but they have a chance if the Brees/Bush/Duece combo still play healthy.
10. Falcons 3-1
Lost to NO with all the emotion on the rebuilt stadium, but outside of that they are hard to stop. Lelie is finally giving them a deep threat, Hall is a shutdown corner, and the rushing attack of Vick, Dunn, and Norwood is nearly impossible to shut completely down.
Just outside the top 10:
Carolina
Team notes:
Poor Jets. Pennington is healthy and Barlow looks good. But they lose tough to the Pats and now just come up short in an awesome shootout with Indy. I feel bad for this good team.
Jacksonville- After shutting down Pit and holding Indy to minimal offense, they get beat by a marginal and streaky Washington team. I never saw that coming.
Denver- Are they as good as they were when they beat NE, or as bad as they seemed the 2 weeks earlier? Is Plummer poised for another AFC title run, or is Cutler going to be starting in 3 weeks?
Teams to watch:
Pittsburgh
Washington
Carolina
