Really huge win due to the fact that UGA hasn't beaten a ranked opponent since 2004, this was on national TV (ESPN 2) and it wasn't a fluke as Georgia looked as good or better than Zaga every step of the way. Really fun game to watch as the first half was just fast break basketball with 3 of the Georgia guards playing out of their minds- Levi Stukes had 19 at half, Mike Mercer looked dominant at times and he and Sundiata Gaines were 2 steps quicker than anyone on Gonzaga. The game settled down in the 2nd half but Georgia just wore down Gonzaga with their speed and Gonzaga didn't have enough left in the tank for that final comeback as some of Georgia's role players (Albert Jackson, Steve Newman and Takais Brown came up with some big plays down the stretch). Great win by Georgia as they begin the tough part of their schedule with Ga Tech, Clemson, Wisconsin and Florida coming up soon.

Georgia definitely looks like a team that's improved from last year. Big win for UGA.

Georgia definitely looks like a team that's improved from last year. Big win for UGA. We lost to Tech w/o our point guard and now we've got undefeated Clemson (although I'm not sure how much of that is their schedule as they always seem to have a great record going into conference play) on the road and then #4 Wisconsin at home. So this should be an interesting 10 day stretch. Hopefully Gaines is back for these 2 because he is the glue of the team. Without him we just aren't very good.
