Hawks are playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue with Bulls, TWolves, Sixers, Jazz, Spurs, Dallas and Seattle.
Main Guys of interested on the Hawks Team are:
PF/C Sheldon Williams (First Round Pick last year)
PF/C Soloman Jones (Second Round Pick last year)
PF/C Al Horford (First Round Pick this year)
PG/SG Acie Law (First Round Pick this year)
Some other interesting names on the team are:
G Jarrius Jackson- Texas Tech (undrafted rookie)
G Derek Raivio- Gonzaga (undrafted rookie)
G Mario West- Georgia Tech (undrafted rookie)
Summer League stats are definitely not indicators of how the guys will do in the NBA (as Summer League is more of a one-on-one league) but it's interesting to look at none-the-less as it's helping to prepare these guys for their first or second years in the NBA.
So far the Hawks are 1-1 and here are some of the stats:
Sheldon- 17 ppg, 15 for 26 from the floor, 9.5 boards per game.
Horford- 13.5 ppg, 10 for 20 from the floor, 2.5 assts per game, 7.5 boards per game.
Law- 8 ppg, 6 for 22 from the floor, 5 assists per game, 2.5 boards per game
So far Sheldon is looking really good (had one fantastic game where he went 10 for 12 with 11 boards and 23 points), Horford seems real solid and Law is struggling to find his shot but seems to be distributing pretty good. Should be interesting to see how everything else goes this summer. Looks like these 3 guys are logging between 20 and 30 minutes per game.
Derek Raivio has a real nice game against the Spurs hitting 2 for 2 from 3 and adding 3 assists and 3 boards in only 15 minutes
