Appalachian State 34 No. 5 Michigan 32
I think that's a good way to start this thread off.

Georgia 35 Oklahoma State 14
Really good opener for Georgia, who came into the game with a lot of question marks (mainly being inexperienced OL, DL and LB units). The first half was fairly even and then Georgia just out muscled them in the second half and could have easily put 2 additional scores on the board if they weren't content to just run out the clock by handing the ball off. Lots of buzz before the game about Oklahoma State's offense so it was nice to see Georgia's defense step up and hold them to 14 points (they scored 35 a game last year). Not a dominant defensive performance but they looked pretty solid. Biggest positive coming out of the game for me were Matthew Stafford looking much more comfortable and really controlling the offense better- he went 18 of 25 for 237 and 2 TDs (0 INTs), the play of freshman RB Knowshon Moreno- who got 70 yards rushing and caught 2 passes for 50 yards but looked like he could be a player that gives us that big play ability, Thomas Brown looked really solid coming off ACL surgery as he had 2 TDs and ran well and Sean Bailey, also coming off of ACL surgery and sitting out all last year to re-hab, caught 5 passes for 87 yards and looks to give us that go to receiver. Overall, I'm very pleased with the opener as our offense looks better right out of the gate then it usually does (we usually struggle a lot in the opening weeks of the season) and the defense played better than I expected against a team that has some good offensive talent. Next week will be another tough test as South Carolina and Darth Visor come to town.

Sorry Kev, Georgia down. It's OK though, a lot of teams seem to go down yesterday. Notre Dame and Mich are finished, Hawaii and Wisconsin JUST got by, and Boise and V-Tech all went down as well.

Sorry Kev, Georgia down. It's OK though, a lot of teams seem to go down yesterday. Notre Dame and Mich are finished, Hawaii and Wisconsin JUST got by, and Boise and V-Tech all went down as well. -Jason Well we totally got outplayed and coached in the first half and then just made critical mistakes in the second half- dropping 2 touchdown passes to tie the game late in the 4th. Committing 2 critical penalties with a minute left to kill the last drive of the game. Overall, we just didn't call a good offensive game. The defense played well enough to win. The good news is that the team is really young. Very few seniors on defense, a sophmore Quarterback and a stud Redshirt Freshman RB Knowshon Moreno (got over 100 yards Saturday despite playing backup tailback). We've got a patsy next week and then Bama the week after so the season kind of hinges on the Bama game. We can get back in the running for the SEC with a win there, if we don't then it's gonna be a long season.

What a game between Georgia and Bama at Bama. Good solid game throughout. Georgia controlled the majority of the game with Bama making a 10-pt comeback in the 4th to tie it with under a minute left. Georgia battled back but missed a tough 47 yard field goal into the wind. Bama goes 3 and out in their first series for OT but gets a FG. Stafford nails Mikey Henderson on a Play-Action for a TD on UGA's first play of OT for the win.
