Show starts off with a good serious CM Punk promo which is interrupted by Colt Cabana. Punk gets pissed and leaves and Cabana cuts a HILARIOUS promo that has me ROLLING ON THE FLOOR. Cabana RULES!
Show starts with Special K in the ring continuing their Rave from last show- but this time in New Jersey. d*mn the crowd is freakin' huge. CSC come down to try to break it up but are unsuccessful. Low-Ki's music hits and the fans POP and chant his name. Ki is in the ring and all Special K members hit the road except for 3 of them. Ki b!tch slaps one of them- and when I say b!tch slap- I mean B!ITCH slap. The other 2 members of Special K start to laugh in the ring and Ki joins them laughing at the fallen Special K member. Ki then takes down Hijinks (the annoying blond guy who is always bouncing around outside the ring) into the Dragon Clutch in one swift move and he taps in 1.2 seconds. Deranged then attacks Ki and an impromptu match starts between the 2:
FIRST MATCH: Low-Ki vs. Deranged
Deranged gets in some pretty good offense for about 3 minutes until Ki just starts brutilizing him with Kawada kicks, a huge Koppou kick in the corner and the normal Ki offense. Match ends with Ki getting Deranged up in his clutch (like going for Ki Krusher) and does 2 Krush rushes into opposite corners and then hits a sick Spiral Ki Krusher for the win. Short-Fun match- good to see Ki in action in ROH.
We then cut to Christopher Daniels in Japan. He is talking to Allison Danger on the phone. He says not to worry he is using Koji Kanemoto's phone-LOL. Daniels gets off the phone-speaks Japanese at the camera-and then cuts a promo saying how he built ROH and that ROH would be nothing without him. He says he is getting updates on the show-talks about Low-Ki's return- and then says we will hear from him later during the show.
SECOND MATCH: Matt Stryker vs. Jimmy Rave
Another good Matt Stryker match. All he does is have good matches. In my review of 9/6 I said that Rave needed to open up his offense a little and branch out with some new moves- well....I should have watched this match first. There was a really nice sequence where Stryker is sitting on the turnbuckle and Rave climbs up the ropes and then hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Stryker but Rave has locked his own legs over the top rope and he pulls himself back up to the top- but by the time he has turned around Stryker scales the ropes and hits him with a nice belly-to-belly off the top. All in all a good match- and no complaints from me here. FEAR THE BROW.
THIRD MATCH: TWA (Rudy Boy Gonzales, Hotstuff, Hernandez, Don Juan & Fast Eddie) vs. Carnage Crew (Justin Credible, Loc, DeVito, Masada)- Weapons Match
HOLY SH!T! The only word I can use to describe this match is INSANE. This match was chock full of action from start to finish. Something crazy was going on ALL THE TIME. I loved the brawl these guys had at RRC2 in Pittsburgh and this was even better. This is how I like my hardcore wrestling!
HOLY SH!T! HOLY SH!T! HOLY SH!T! HOLY SH!T!
That's what the fans were chanting in this match as I watched from my chair with my mouth wide open!
FOURTH MATCH: The Purists (Tony Mamaluke/John Walters) vs. The Outkast Killaz
This is a "Showcase" match for the new team of The Purists. Overall, this was an OK match. The Purists looked pretty good as a team for their first match together (they looked great individually but didn't do too many tag-maneuvers til the end of the match). The Outkast Killaz showed some nice moves off at times in the match. Purists finished off one of the Outkast Killaz with a nice double team submission move.
After the tag-match The Ring Crew Xpress comes down and makes fun of The Outkast Killas. Xavier then comes out to the ring (the Killas take off). He clotheslines Dunn & Marcos and hits some nice moves on them. He then proceeds to cut a not so hot promo about joining The Field of Honor. I for one am glad to see Xavier back. While I was not thrilled that he was given the ROH Title after being booked as a mid-card guy I thought he did an admiral job in his title defenses and ended up drawing a great deal of heat for some of his matches. Welcome Back.
FIFTH MATCH: Doug Williams vs. Tom Carter
A wrestling fans scientific dream match. I really enjoyed this match. It started off with 5 minutes of great counter wrestling with both guys reversing each other's moves. Toward the end Carter hit a sweet frog splash on Williams. Williams hit his Chaos Theory but could not hold on because Carter had been working his arm for the entire match. Carter wins with a roll-up. Great match- I love watching both Williams & Carter work as they are as technically sound as they come.
As Carter leaves the ring Allison Danger stops him and again offers him a spot in The Prophecy. He declines.
SIXTH MATCH: #1 Contender's Match: Colt Cabana vs. Homicide vs. Dan Maff vs. BJ Whitmer.
ROH 4-way's RULE. This match rocked from beginning to end. I'm feeling sorry for Jeff Hardy having to wrestle later on after these last two matches (no I'm not). That's all I'm gonna say about it- Whitmer wins with an Exploder off the top rope on Cabana.
Again we find Christopher Daniels in "Japan" on Koji's cell phone talking to Allison Danger. Daniels is surprised that Xavier has returned and is surprised that neither he nor Allison knew he was coming back. Daniels then looks past the camera and speaks Japanese (LOL). He then goes into full-on promo mode.
GMC interviews Low-Ki. Ki basically says that Maff is a traitor and also says that he will once again wear the ROH Title.
