Alright, I finally decided I would review this. So here it is...
Michael Shane vs. Austin Aries - Ok match here, nothing too special though. Ariew was impressive, and Shane was ok. Nothing to write home about in this one. *1/4
Allison Danger and MsChif vs. Daizee Haze and Mickie Knuckles - Pretty good match on a women's match scale. All 4 of these women will be in the women's tournament on the 30th I believe, and it should be a pretty solid tourny. Solid women's tag. *1/2
Colt Cabana vs. Danny Daniels - Really solid match here. Cabana shows a ton of simply awesome stuff in this one. He does a lot of stuff I have never seen him do in an ROH ring. Daniels was very impressive as well. Bad ending, but the match itself was very solid. **1/4
Zack Gowen w/ Alex Shelley vs. Trik Davis - Not good, but Gowen is good at interacting with the crowd. Funny moment after the match when Gowen tries to start a "he's a pussy" chant(directed at Davis), and then a few people in the crowd start chanting "he has two legs". Very cruel, but very funny. The match itself wasn't good. 3/4*
Petey Williams vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Nate Webb vs. Arik Cannon vs. Roderick Strong vs. Emil Sitoci - SUPER FUN match. Everyone was really impressive in this one. At one point in the match, everyone was on the floor and Webb was on the top rope, and he does a REVERSE 450 to the outside, but he overshoots it and lands on a chair. SICK FN SPOT. Very, very fun match. ***
Steve Stone vs. Adam Flash - Solid match. Not great, but not bad. Flash was impressive here. I always thought he was more of a hardcore guy, but he wrestled a regular wrestling match. *1/2
AJ Styles vs. Matt Sydal - INCREDIBLE. That's all that can describe this match. There was some S I C K stuff in this. High flying at it's finest. If you are a fan of high flying, you will love this match. After the match Styles "passes the torch" so to speak, when he tells Sydal not to be the next AJ Styles, but to instead be the first Matt Sydal. Great match. ****
Jerry Lynn vs. Delirious - Fun match. I really enjoyed it. Delirious took a sick bump into the ring post on the outside(back first), and Lynn also took a sick bump on the floor. There was some funny stuff involving a toy bunny as well(that sounds weird, but Delirious did some stuff that made me laugh my ass off). Good match. **3/4
Ryan Boz and Brad Bradley vs. Chad Collyer and Nigel McGuiness - Ok match. Nothing special, but it was solid. Not really much to say besides that it was solid. *1/2
Samoa Joe vs. BJ Whitmer - Really fun match here. This is Samoa Joe's debut for Mid-South, and the fans just went NUTS for him. The OLE kicks in this match are pretty cool cause Mid-South doesn't have guard rails, so he just sets Whitmer up on the chair, runs at him, and kicks him in the face so he falls backwards on the chair. Crowd goes crazy for that. Some solid stuff in this match. After the match Joe gets some "please come back" chants. ***
Chris Hero vs. B-Boy - H...O...L...Y..........S...H....I....T! This was so incredibally awesome. This was a 42 minute 2 out of 3 falls match, and I loved every second of it. Crowd goes nuts for Hero's return. I really don't have a lot to say about the match except that it was unbelievable. Not as good as London/Danielson from last year, but still incredible. Again, spectacular match. ****1/2
Wifebeater vs. Corporal Robinson - Not great, but man these's guys are tough. This was a 2 out of 3 tables match. For the third table break, it was a really sh*tty break, so Robinson gets on the mic and says that he wasn't going to count it. They then procede to bring the announcers table in to use as the last table. They tried at least 10 times to break it, but it wouldn't break! They seriously almost paralyzed themselves trying to break this table. The match is finally stopped when both of them aren't moving and it is called a draw. I respect both of these guys for how much they will go to just to get the fan's their money's worth. Not a great match, but they both deserve some props for how far they would go for the fans. *1/4
PHENOMINAL SHOW. If you don't have this, do yourself a favor and BUY IT RIGHT NOW! If the tape only had Hero vs. B-Boy, or Styles vs. Sydal, this tape would still be worth it. Put both those two together, and add the rest of the matches, and you have the best show I have seen this year. GREAT show. Two thumbs way up.
