Just started my ROH rampage, and I'm loving this DVD so far.
Joe and Dragon had a classic exchange here, just had to add that.
Shelley vs. Stryker was mad fun. The best i've seen from Stryker in a while. Shelley did the usual innovation that makes him great, and this was truely an awesome opener.
McGuinness vs. Hawk was very solid. Better than I expected by all means. Nigel looked VERY crisp and innovative, and Hawk looked better than he gets credit for. Good stuff.
Jacobs vs. Sabin- WOW they did alot in this one. Very fast paced fun match here, where both men innovate and pull out alot. Sabin showed that he DOES deserve a spot in ROH full time for sure, and Jacobs rules.
More in the immediate future...

I don't know why, but I havent really been in a wrestling mood since the IWC show Friday. I am enjoying it, but not really loving it like I usually do. Anyway...
Coleman vs. Rave vs. Rainman vs. Sexton was super fun. Just nonstop action with several innovative moves. Rainman was awesome, and Caprice RULES. Spine-SPLITAAAA LOL. Rave is ready for the Main Event.
Cide vs. Styles is a MOTYC. Like I said I wasnt really cheering b/c I havent been in a wrestling mood, but this was perfect. There was a nice feel to this, and both guys pulled out some NICE high impact stuff. Awesome match, just 2 of the best in the world going at it.
CC/RCE vs. Special K is a good match, given alot of time. Slim J has some sick head droppers in this one, and all 8 guys look great. Fun tag match that pushes the CC/K fued far.
Dragon/Joe vs. Briscoes had some lull points, but i was actually REALLY into this. Dragon nearly KILLED mark and Jay streaching them out so much, and the Briscoe's team stuff was good. 2nd best MOTN so far.
Still to come- Fallen Angel and the Prophasy vs. God and the SCS.

Rave is ready for the Main Event. Can I get some of that stuff that you are taking I'll have to go back and watch this cause from what I remember this was a decent to good match but both guys seemed to really get lost during this match at more than one time and just left the match feeling empty IMO.

"Can I get some of that stuff that you are taking"
LOL I know it's a personal preference but seriously, everything i've seen from Rave is gold. He just has those matches that make me think he's ready. The attitude is getting in good shape now, and he's the type of young lion that ROH needs to be the future (like Aries/Shelley are). He's learning from Styles, and could be a similar presence soon IMO. He's very well rounded and has a good mix of high flying and technical offense.
I looked for Cide/Styles to get lost and i didnt see it at all. I'm in the same boat as Volt in calling this a MOTYC, just had everything it needed and showed the best of both men IMO.

I'm a HUGE AJ mark, but I agree with Kev in that something was missing from that match. It was well worked and all, but the layout was iffy... or something was wrong. Both guys, particularly Homicide (who I'm also a big mark for), seemed a bit off. Still a very good match though.
Joe/Dragon vs. the Briscoes was better IMO and possibly MOTN. The story with the Briscoes not being able to outstrike Joe or out-wrestle Dragon so they have to rely on double team moves was great. Also, Dragon was so f'ing awesome here with the little things. I LOVED the build to the finish where Danielson DIED on the J-Driller, which just goes to show what not kicking out of 1,000 finishers in a match can do.

i don't see the technician in Rave he only goes for one technical move and works over 1 body part(arm in all the matches of his i have scene he only works over the arm). I just don't see what people like about rave i find him very bland.

Rave to me is very well rounded, and is just the best of the Wildside boys IMO. He is good at disecting a body part (usually the arm indeed) and working it with innovation (not to the level of Hero or Dragon, but about at the level of Styles or Sydal). He is also a good mix of technical, high flying, and striking offense. A young stud who has years ahead of him. Thats what I see in Rave, but thats just my take on him.
I really liked the way both Styles and Cide looked in this match, but maybe the story of "who's the best in ROH and is the MVP" kinda drew me in, plus the crowd was really hot for it as well. Just an overall nice spot and heart type of match.
I also finished the tape, watching the ME.
Nothing special in the wrestling dept. but it really pushed the SCS/Prophasy fued along perfectly. Punk is damn near identical to Raven here as he ducks Daniels and takes cheap shots (as Raven did in his Dreamer and Funk ECW fueds). He played mind games and talked trash like the king Raven used to. The angel's wings on the table and his facial expressions and words at the end (along with ending promo) were GOLD and really sold him as a huge threat in ROH. If you look at it that way, this match was huge for his career and is really fun. Wrestling wise though, it's simply OK.
Final thoughts: Definetly worth picking up if not for anything else, for the god that is C.M. Punk. The first 4 matches were very fun and a great mix of styles. Then came my MOTYC in Styles-Cide. Everything on this entire show is great in one way or another.

Thats what I see in Rave, but thats just my take on him I see a decent wrestler who lacks charisma and seems a bit shy at going for the kill. He also seems lost at times in the ring where he isn't sure what he should do next. Overall, he's a good wrestler but I would personally rather watch Caprice Coleman, Ray Gordy, Salvatore Rinauro and even Todd Sexton (as he has more charisma than Rave and plays better to the crowd-when given the opportunity).

i view rave just about the same as Kev does. I just find him very bland. I don't even consider him a striker b-boy is more of a technician/striker then rave and im not very fond of b-boy. I have not seen much high flying from rave the most high flying i have scene from him is a top rope rana. As for me my favorite wildside wrestler is either Gordy or Cross

No doubt that he's amongst great talent in WS and may not be the #1 guy, but IMO next to Cross he's my favorite to watch. I think he's getting way better at going for the kill and shows improvement on this type of thing every match. I think his charisma speaks volumes in his moves and look. I dont know how to explain it, but it's on the charisma level of a Hero or Dragon (not that he's NEAR them at all, I mean i just view his charisma and like it the way I like theirs, if you know what I mean).
