Yeah, I'm back in the full wrestling swing again. I got 4 shows in today, and am going to the IWC show on Fri again! Anyway, although I still need to watch the last match from Stage 1 and deliver my final thoughts there, I figured I'd start Stage 2 anyway, since I was so excited about it.
Whitmer vs. Steel was OK, nothing bad but nothing special either. Whitmer pisses me off with his inconsistancies.
Diavari/Delirious vs. Credible/Masada was very fun. Underrated match, and I wish Credible/Masada would stay a team full time. Delirious and Masada are great. Fun match.
Collyer vs. Walters was AWESOME. MOTN to this point, and a match that didn't get much hype. I'm getting huge on Collyer, and Walters is an underrared blue chipper that works his ass off. Great stuff.
Rave vs. McGuinness vs. Romero vs. Aries- WOW! MOTN has been changed already. This owned, and every man looked sick here. Awesome exchanges both on the mat and high impact. Nigel is becoming great in front of my face. Romero kicks harder than any MF'er on the planet. Rave continues to be ready for the ME sceane. Aries is indeed the NEW HOTNESS (huh kev!). Not a MOTYC but close.
Cide vs. Dragon was fun. Not a MOTYC like it was hyped, but a very well-worked solid match. It just fallowed two great matches, and it was a bit of a let down. I honestly liked Punk-Dragon way more, but nonetheless this was still good.
Daniels vs. Reyes was OK, kind of just there for no reason. I'm not big on Reyes. Decent short match.
Shelley/Jacobs vs. Evans/Sydal vs. CC vs. RCE was very fun and nonstop fun, with mad innovation and some hear drops like the night before. If not for such a stacked card this would have stolen the show. Punk cracks me up here! Again he has some classic "flip lines" for Evans. Sydal and Shelley are my MVP's for this one.
This show OWNS!!!!
Still to come- Joe/Stryker and SCS vs. Briscoe's.

I thought this match was great as well. Glad you liked it. I agree with everything you said except Rave, who should be kept in the mid-card.
I kinda figured you wouldn't dig this as much as I did.

Yeah that 4 way was something special.
I noticed that you look for the little things in matches such as the specific way something is done (ecpesially in Dragon's case). Fact is, I liked this alot but it seemed to drag to me a bit in the mat sense. Selling is key, but I dont think it carries a match. I wanted it to get a bit stiffer, and some more chain holds in the big body of the match. It was still a good match, but most people said this owned Dragon/Cide, which I liked about twice as much.
Either way, both of those matches were good, and this whole card is crazy good thus far.

I LOVED this show. It has to be my favorite ROH show EVER. It even surpasses Main Event Spectacles and 2YAS.
Dragon vs. Cide was just technical wrestling at it's finest. I don't think I have EVER seen two guys tell a better story while wrestling. Just fucking awesome. Danielson's hand work was SICK, and it looked like Cide's hand was legit broken(it might have been, I'm not really sure).
Walters vs. Collyer is INCREDIBALLY underrated. Just a super fun fast paced technical match. I've never seen EITHER man look better(except perhap Walters performance(s) at Gen Next).
Aries vs. McGuiness vs. Romero vs. Rave was without a doubt the BEST 4 Corner Survival in ROH history. Just incredibally fun. GREAT mat work, high impact moves, strikes, and submissions. I absolutely LOVE Romero, Aries, and McGuiness. McGuiness needs pushed. Romero and Aries are getting pushed, which is great. Great fucking match.
Best...Scramble...EVER. This was so damn fun. Jack Evans and Matt Sydal were PURE GOLD in this. I'm a huge Evans and Sydal fan, I as I ALWAYS have fun watching them. Everyone looked great in this.
Joe vs. Stryker was VERY underrated. Best match of Strykers ROH career. Joe made Stryker look like a million bucks.
SCS vs. Briscoes was the best tag match in ROH history imo. Everything just clicked. Great pace, great double team manuevers, great heat, and just a fun match. This blows the Red/Styles vs. Briscoes, Pitbulls vs. Briscoes, Backseats vs. Briscoes, and Joe/partner vs. Briscoes match out of the water imo. Just awesome.
Best ROH show ever(that I have seen).

Anyone know if it was? I know it was broken somewhere in this timeframe, because at World Title Classic, his hand was wrapped up and he wasn't cleared to wrestle.
But yeah, Stage 2 is definitely a top to bottom GREAT show. You've got three tremendous matches in the four way, SCS vs. The Briscoes, and especially Danielson/Homicide. Throw in a fun scramble match, and two decent matches in Collyer/Walters and Joe/Stryker and you have a Grade A show indeed.

If I remember correctly, Homicide broke his hand at the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup down in Florida.

I still gotta watch Joe/Stryker and the Tag ME, which I'm VERY excited about. That may have indeed been the best 4 way in ROH history, and way to show the love for Collyer/Walters. Just sick how fun that was to watch. I'll let you guys know when I finish.
"Wait til you get to the "Generation Next" tape."
If your implying that that show is better than this one, then I'm gonna go crazy during this. Thats the show I'm onto next anyway, so I'm extra excited.

I wouldn't say it Gen Next was better than Reborn: Stage Two, but it was awesome(my second favorite this year).
Cide vs. Joe was just pure awesome. I can't wait to see their DBD 2 match.
Words can't describe the 8 Man Tag. It was worth 20 bucks alone.
Jacobs vs. McGuiness was SUPER fun(did I mention I LOVE McGuiness, and he needs pushed?).
The Special K vs. Gen Next match was just a short, very fun match.
Shelley vs. Hydro was very good for the time it was given(around 7 min. I believe). Both guys looked great.
SCS vs. Prophecy was solid, but I was let down, honestly. I expected much more(considering I think both teams absolutely rule).
That's all really worth mentioning, but it was just an awesome show, which flowed perfectly. Definately recommended.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to the comparasson and how these stack up in my order of favorites, as Kev does with his.
Anyway I finished this show, and loved it!
Joe vs. Stryker was very fun. Stryker showed patience and emotion at the same time, and this was a very stiff hard hitting match. Good stuff.
SCS vs. Briscoes was a VERY good tag match, that was another possible MOTN here. Great interactions and double team moves, and just very fun stuff all together. I dunno if it was the best tag ever in ROH, but certainly one of the top 5 ever.
Overall this show was a MUST SEE! The scramble, the 4 way, and Walters/Collyer were MAD fun showstealer types, Cide/Dragon put on a good match, and both ME's were awesome. Just a top to bottom sick card, that makes this my favorite show of the year thus far.
1. Reborn: Stage 2 2. Reborn: Stage 1 3. The Battle Lines Are Drawn
