The first review out of three PWG shows i got yesterday...
ROCKTOBERFEST!!
Match #1
Disco Machine, Topgun Talwar, Charles Mercury, & Chris Bosh vs Human Tornado, Supa Badd, Lil' Cholo, & Phoenix Star
This match has a hillarious start with an eight person test of strength. A lot of comedy spots and some good heel vs face tactics by team Sexual Agression (Discos team) where the isolate Human Tornado and every member of the team attacks him...and bites him. A Hillarious FUN match with some good wrestling as well, Not a match of the ages but definitly enjoyable to watch for the humour, story and commentary.
Rating: **1/2 (Still FUN!)
Apollo Kahn vs Tommy Williams
i KNEW There was third member of the X-foundation...and Tommy Williams is it! I think i may have seen him on a previous dvd but the only members of the Xfoundation i could remember where Joey Ryan and Scott Lost. Williams isnt quite in the same leauge but he is very talented. Apollo Kahn was quite impressive and he broke out some very good strong style wrestling with a few very good and unique submission. Not as funny as the first match but this match was all about the wrestling, and that wasnt a bad thing
Rating: ** (It was short, but still good!)
Scorpio Sky & Quicksilver vs Sal & Vito Thomasell
Another fun match that had several laugh out loud moments for me...mostly because of commentary. But there was a hillarious eight person headlock exchange with both teams managers, the ring announcer and the referee getting involved. FUNNY AS HELL. The match was decently wrestled but wasnt as good as i was hoping, this was my first time seeing either Team (id seen Sky and Quicksilver wrestle before, just not together) and i wasnt all that impressed. Still a fun match though
Rating: **
Bobby Quance vs Puma
Not a suprise but this was the best wrestling match of the night so far. Both men know each other very well and that showed in the match. They had a good serious of back and forth offense and hot start and finish to the match. The agility of both men is pretty spectacular and they pulled out some Japanese style offense not often seen in the US and it was VERY well peformed. Good Match!
Rating: ***
Next Up: Steve Corino vs CM Punk, The X Foundation vs Exalibur and Super Dragon
