Adam Pearce vs. Pelle Primeau & Mitch Franklin
This was originally a Primeau vs Franklin match but Pearce came out and destroyed them. This was fun for what it was and I'm enjoying Pearce's run in ROH thus far.
Grim Reefer w/Julius Smokes vs. Colt Cabana
Grim Reefer calls out Cabana but instead CM Punk comes out (with green hair)! Shortly thereafter Adam Pearce jumps CM Punk (Pearce was sitting at ringside waiting for the "Big Surprise" that was promised). Cabana ran in to save Punk. Then Punk and Cabana worked the mic for a while before Cabana had a short match against someone who should not be in ROH.
Ricky Reyes vs. Kid Mikaze
Perfectly acceptable for what it was.
Pure Title Match: Nigel McGuinness (c) vs. Austin Aries
This was definitely one of the top 2 matches of the night. Really solid stuff and would have probably played better in front of a better crowd (the Long Island crowd sucks).
ROH Title Match: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Xavier
This was an okay match but nowhere near every other Danielson defense. I think part of it was because Danielson was working twice tonight and part was that Xavier had some ROH ring rust on him and looked a bit off of his game. Jimmy Rave interferred when Danielson was about to win and this brought out Punk to even the odds.
Jim Cornette then cut a fucking brillant backstage promo.
Four Way Survival: Jerrelle Clark vs. Jimmy Yang vs. Jason Blade vs. Azrieal
This was decent. The Clark and Yang stuff was the best. Blade looked okay. I think this was the match that showed Azrieal the door as he just looked fucking horrible in this match.
Roderick Strong vs. BJ Whitmer
Solid but pedestrian match. Everything looked pretty good, I just couldn't get into it.
CM Punk/Brian Danielson vs. Adam Pearce/Jimmy Rave
MOTN from where I was sitting. THis was pretty much just a real solid main event with solid work from all of the guys around the horn. Danielson hit an awesome Springboard Senton from the ring to the outside over the guardrail and into the audience that left CM Punk shocked.
Post match CM Punk went off on a fan for about 5 minutes with tons of awesome cut-downs and then he ran outside and did a snow angel in the snow.
Verdict:
This is an ok show, but it just felt weird. Guess it was the "Unscripted" vibe and all of the no-shows/cancellations that happened. Plus, the crowd was just flat-out awful. There were also a lot of throw-away matches and then a couple of matches that were decent but just didn't grab me (Roderick/Whitmer, Danielson/Xavier). This show has 2 really solid matches in the Tag-Team Main Event and Aries/Nigel. If you buy this tape then do so for those two matches, the awesome Cornette promo and CM Punk chewing up and spitting out that fan at the end of the show. Defenitely a "free" selection during the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale.
