Colt Cabana vs. Sal Rinuaro
Good solid opener to get the crowd going as both guys play their role really well.
Shane Hagadorn vs. Bobby Dempsey (Top of the Class Trophy)
This was tremendous. They shake hands and Hagadorn immediately goes for a foreign object in his trunk and as the referee is putting away the trophy he nails Dempsey and gets the pin in about 5 seconds.
Post-match Adam Pearce comes down to congratulate Hagadorn- who is sort of his apprentice and then a good angle goes down with BJ Whitmer and Steve Corino which ends in Corino laying out Whitmer while Pearce watches.
Nigel McGuiness vs. Jay Lethal vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Christopher Daniels (Four Corner Survival Match)
Good solid 4-way here with good back stories. Lethal felt a little out of place- not that he did anything wrong it just felt like he didn't really have a purpose for being in the match. McGuinness looked awesome- man he had the best running elbow ever and Daniels continues to try and get back on stride as he has been looking much better recently in ROH than he did in 2005 and early 2006.
Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. Jack Evans & Matt Sydal vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Irish Airborne (ROH World Tag Team Title Ultimate Endurance Match)
Falls 1 and 3 were great and fall 2 was just kind of there. Shocking upset here as the Irish Airborne eliminate the Briscoes out of nowhere and then the final fall is really good as it pits the former GenExers against each other and there are tons of fun spots in that fall.
Homicide & BJ Whitmer vs. Steve Corino & Adam Pearce
This was a good break from the previous matches in that it brought an good old-school brawl/tag-team match whereas the last 2 matches were more fast paced and spot-oriented. Good stuff here with the Briscoes interfering and taking out Homicide strengthening their angle so now Cide has to deal with Corino, Pearce and the Briscoes before trying to vie for the ROH title again.
KENTA vs. Davey Richards
This was pretty much what you would expect from these two explosive offensive wrestlers. I liked this one a lot more than the previous AJ/Davey match but still enjoyed the Rave/Davey matches better.
Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe (ROH World Title Match)
This was really solid. Good first 40 minutes setting everything up and then they closed it out very well in the last 20 minutes and really got the crowd into it at the right time and pulled off a really good match while still leaving plenty for the rest of the fued although it wasn't quite the MOTYC that I thought it might be going in.
Nice post-match angle as Danielson gets out of dodge but as he's backing up the aisle he's met by KENTA who is then attacked by the Briscoes who are then attacked by Homicide. So we end up with the Briscoes double teaming Homicide in the ring and Homicide's rival- Samoa Joe comes to his aid. Joe then cuts a promo saying he's got Cide's back and Cide challenges the Brisoces to take them on at the next NYC show.
Verdict:
This was another top to bottom good outing from ROH. There is nothing on here that isn't worth watching and the final two matches are definitely worth the cost of the DVD.
