I just picked up an XBOX system and was wondering who can recommend me some games. Don't just list the games, but tell me why I should try them....
Any gamers out there?

I dont have X-Box (I have PS2), but i have played and LOVE "Halo". I'm sure you've heard of it's awesomeness. The best game for XBOX out there!

Oh, I'll do plenty of pimping! ;D First thing's first- STAY AWAY FROM ALL WRESTLING GAMES! XBox has no good wrestling games at all. That said, I have yet to play the new Legends of Wrestling game, but even that looks like more of the same. As for pimping games, it depends what genre you're talking about. Halo is obviously great for FPS goodness. I didn't like it at first like everyone else, but I picked it up again a couple months ago and got hooked. The multi-play is supposed to be quite good too, though I've never used it. Jet Set Radio Future is probably my favorite XBox game and you can find it for dirt cheap on eBay. It's incredibly fun and stylish (cel shaded!), and there's plenty of J-Pop to boot! Since I'm a SEGA mark, I'll also recommend Panzer Dragoon Orta, which is my favorite shooter on the system. It's on rails, but like JSRF it's colorful and fast paced. Headache (seizure?) inducing, but awesome. If you're into shooters, like the old school 2D vertical shooters, this is as close you can get in a 3D enviornment. Lastly, I'd recommend Deus Ex: The Invisible War. It's an FPS/RPG hybrid that's open-ended. The first one is my favorite PC game of all time and this is the sequel. xbox.ign.com is a good place for reviews and such.

I've never played Future, but the original for the Dreamcast is probably my favorite Dreamcast game. That game is so addicting and has tons of replay value due to all of the extra graphitti you can unlock. Hell, I still don't have everything unlocked.

My personal favorite Xbox game is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time. It's a Star Wars RPG with an interesting plot with your main character selecting moral choices that influence your abilities (dark side vs. light side) and outcomes. This interactive element especially makes it addicting. There's some humor in it as well, and once you get the lightsaber, battles can be quite enjoyable too.
Bottom line--it makes Star Wars fun again, which it hasn't been in a long, long time.

Heh, I just saw this thread.
Honestly, right now, Xbox isn't doing much. No good games seem to be coming out. Games I would reccomend however are:
Halo - A must buy for any Xbox owner.
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow - Just a great fucking game.
And, if you are willing to play and EXTREMELEY hard game and put a LOT of time into it.....
Ninja Gaiden - BEST...GAME...EVER on Xbox. It is just extremeley hard and take a LOT of time and patience.

And yeah, Star Wars KOTOR is excellent. Very fun game(though you also must put lots of time into it).
I just got the new NCAA recently, and it is AWESOME. Get that if you are a college football fan. If you are a pro football fan, definately get Madden(I'm going to buy this when I get the money).

It's fun but my issue is that the hard levels are too hard (passing is impossible) and the easier levels are too easy (i.e. I beat someone 107-0).

I don't know if any of you guys read penny arcade, but they made a couple of comics about those games that were just great:

LOL, I mark for Splinter Cell: Puppy Helmet.
ESPN NFL 2K5 is pretty great. And cheap too. I picked up a copy for 16 bucks at Target. It's the best looking football game ever, and for a guy who can't stand watching football, I really enjoy playing it.
Coming up soon, I'm looking forward to Fable and Otogi 2. Fable is gonna be pretty epic. It's either gonna really rule ass or be really disappointing. And Otogi 2 appears to kick a good deal of ass and it looks pretty damn good to boot!
And yes, Jet Grind Radio is one of the best games ever. JSRF is a dumbed down version (i.e. it's A LOT easier to use graphitti) but the graphics are improved. The backgrounds look amazing.
