So im starting training soon and id like to have some wrestling gear BEFORE i start training, although all that is required is work out clothes, but id like to at least have an IDEA what im going to be wearing in the ring and how to work in it
The trouble is i cant find anywhere affordable to get boots and trunks, and Eztights.com dosent list prices, and its all custom. I dont really NEED custom boots or tights so i was looking at highspots...but its over a hundred to two hundred dollars just for normal black boots. THATS INSANE! So i was wondering if anyone knows anywhere that is a LITTLE less insanely priced for wrestling gear. Hopefully this will all work out somehow
Thanks in advance, peace!

I would recommend investing in a pair of normal wrestling shoes that you can get at any sporting goods store. Even if you don't wrestle in them, they're great for training. Just about everyone was wearing them at that Chikara session I sat in on. And if you do decide to wrestle in them, you can just get some kickpads to make it look cool. It takes an inch or so off, but your mobility is increased. Midnight Xpress Gear is the place I'll likely be ordering my stuff from eventually. They work with a place down in Mexico that makes gear and most of their stuff looks pretty good. A lot of indy guys get their stuff there, as well as La Parka. However, it doesn't look like you can order stuff from them at the current time, so I have no idea about pricing. Also, it is custom like EZTights. www.midnightxpressgear.com/index.htmlOr, alternatively, you can get some material and take your design to a tailor or seemstress or whatever. It'd probably be cheaper than a lot of places online.

Yeah dude, regular wrestling shoes are where it's at. I just train in a t-shirt/tanktop and shorts though, so you really don't need any custom gear until you're going to wrestle an actual match at an event. As for kickpads I just wear a cheap pair that I got through www.karate-mart.com that have more padding than the MMA ones and were only like $9. Other than those I wear Trace knee pads that I got through Highspots. You really don't need a lot of stuff to train in, it only get expensive when you wrestle an actual match. One thing that is super nice that I wear is a sleeveless under armor shirt. It was like $40 or something, but it's really nice to train in.

baddasswrestlewear.com/index2.htmlTrunks, tights, singlets all cost 55 bucks if I'm reading it right. Unfortunately, their boots are 150 bucks. Edit: Make sure you read their comments about proper gear. Simply put, wrestling gear is designed for wrestling. They offer specific protection that gear designed for other sports might not. In my opinion, you're better off getting real gear immediately.
