You guys are talking to the first ever president of the Oregon State University Pro Wrestling Club. I kid you not, OSU is going to supply us with funding to buy tapes, watch shows in giant rooms with projectors, and even let us use the facilities to train. I AM THE SMARTEST MAN ALIVE!

If anybody is interested here is the link to the official OSU Pro Wrestling Club website that I put together today: oregonstate.edu/groups/wrestling/index.htmlIt's really bland right now, but hopefuly I'll get around to spicing it up later. If anybody *cough*TOM*cough* wants to be the coolest person in the world and make some sort of banner for the main page where the white "OSU Pro Wrestling Club" text is in that orange box, then please do so. All we have to do now is apply for funding and we're good to go. Man I love college.

Hey, that's awesome! How did you talk the OSU higher-ups into funding this?

Hey, that's awesome! How did you talk the OSU higher-ups into funding this? I'm actually going before the OSU Student Foundation next week about aquiring funding, but from what I've heard my chances are really good. I'll keep you updated as to what happens.

Out of curiosity, who's going to be doing the training for this club, since you mentioned facilities to train...? I may just have to reconsider where I should go to college next year.

Out of curiosity, who's going to be doing the training for this club, since you mentioned facilities to train...? I may just have to reconsider where I should go to college next year. My friend and I had trained at a local gym for the last couple years, so we're actually going to be doing most of the training. Occasionally we're going to have some guest instructors from around the region, but no big names or anything. Trust me, this isn't going to be like going to UPW or anything. It's going to be a once a week thing mostly to have fun, then put on some hilariously retarded show at the end of the year. Since we don't have a ring down there we're actually going to be using a gymnastics floor as it's the closest thing to the feel of a ring. It's just for fun, nothing serious. What's going to help our chances for funding is a plea for safety equipment, namely knee and elbow pads. We're also going to apply for funding for tapes and money to attend local events. However, we're also eligible for tax deductable donations from comapnies, so if we fund raise enough we could actually buy a ring. We'll see how it takes off this year and maybe we'll get a ring next year.

Hmm, I really wish I was going there now, as I really need some wrestling training bad. Fun or not, it's still expireance and it helps. Enjoy it man, I've "trained" a few people (again, nothing serious) in wrestling and even though i don't have the background to do so, it's very fun and helps you learn yourself.

It doesn't take 18 years as a pro to teach people basic moves out of a collar and elbow tie up along with some basic mat techniques. It's not like I'm even remotely going to allow people to even THINK about stuff like brain busters. What sucks is we're kind of stalled right now. I was originally going to use this building's gymnastics floor as it's the most similar thing to a wrestling ring that I can use for multiple people at one time, but they want to charge us $52 for every two hour session. No way in hell can I come up with that sort of money without charging members some big bucks. So what I did was applied for $1600 from the OSU Student Foundation. I'll find out in a couple weeks how it went and I'll lety ou guys know. As of right now we've been gathering in this meeting room and watching tapes on a projector, it's so much fun.
