Just started watching the 4/25/04 NOAH show and I'll I can say is HELL YEAH~! Ricky Marvin is one of the top 5 FUNNEST (is that a word) performers to watch bar none and Yoshinobu Kanemaru is probably the most overlooked, underappreciated talent (besides maybe Hoshikawa) in the world. God this match was fun. Here is a review of it that Michrome (Mike Rome) did:

This match looks great. Mike Rome also gave great ratings to Kobashi vs. Takayama and Misawa & Ogawa vs. MaruKENTA. I'll definately be picking up this show.

Jimmy Jacobs vs. Roderick Strong- IWA MS- 4/9/04
Not the best match but I really liked it. I think Jacobs is really in his element in IWA and Strong looked really good with his power moves (i.e. backbreakers). I think Jacobs was a perfect compliment to Strong's style.
Nigel McGuiness vs. Delirious- IWA MS- 4/9/04
I liked this a lot. The more I see of both of these guys the more I like. I really dig Delirious and his wacky yet effective style. Good stuff here.

Naomichi Marufuji & KENTA vs. Mitsuharu Misawa & Yoshinari Ogawa- NOAH- 4/25/04
Damn this was TREMENDOUS. If Ogawa knew more than one move (several variations of the backdrop suplex) then this would have been FANTASTIC. I LOVED the interaction between KENTA and Misawa...GREAT STUFF. I also marked out huge when Marufuji broke out the one man Spanish fly from the top on Misawa. Long live MaruKENTA. This show so far is a must see with this match and the Kanemaru vs. Marvin match I talked about earlier.
I referenced Mike Rome's review of this show earlier so here is what he had to say about this match (since I'm not in a wrap-up kind of mood):

AJ Styles vs. B-Boy- IWA MS- 4/9/04
This was totally disappointing. B-Boy really mailed this one in. AJ hit all of his spots but that's really all this match was...a collection of spots. Ending was VERY predictable as well.
Rating: ** (being overly generous)
Colt Cabana vs. Danny Daniels- IWA MS- 4/10/04
Really fun little match here. Colt is ON as always and I am actually starting to like Daniels. He even busts out a top rope rana in this match~!
Six Man Ellimination Match featuring : Petey Williams, Jimmy Jacobs, Arik Cannon, Roderick Strong, Emil Sitoci and Nate Webb- IWA MS- 4/10/04
This was a fun little match. Nothing special but it still blew away TNA's 5-minute 6-man from this weeks Impact. Roderick Strong, Jacobs and Williams look really good here.
AJ Styles vs. Matt Sydal- IWA MS- 4/10/04
Really solid match here that had both guys giving a tremendous effort (unlike B-Boy from 4/9). The only thing that really bugged me about this match was that their was just too much "style" and not enough "substance" for this to be considered a great match. I really liked it but there's only so far that flippy moves can take you in a match. Good to see Sydal getting a chance to prove himself against AJ as it will continue to boost his star. And good to see AJ getting a chance to work against different people than he has been working against lately.
Roderick Strong vs. Sonjay Dutt- JAPW- 2/28/04
Wow. This match rocked. If I learned 2 things from this match it is:
1. Roderick Strong will BREAK you over his knee over and over again. 2. Sonjay Dutt has more Toryumon tapes then I do.
Jerry Lynn vs. Delirious- IWA MS-4/10/04
This match probably would have benefited from being 5-10 minutes shorter but I still liked it a lot even though it dragged too much near the end. I am digging Delirious more and more everytime I see him.

Well i'll be getting the 4/10 show very soon, and two of the reasons why are Styles/Sydel and the 6 man match. Glad to see thoughts on them, but i cant believe Styles/B-Boy wasnt classic, real suprise to me.
I also LOVED Strong/Dutt, and you'll see my thoughts on it later.

After what i've been accostomed to from him and even moreso after the CZW 4 way I wrote about, i would NEVER expect a match with those two to be anything below ****.

Azrieal vs Jay Lethal vs Jack Evans vs Insane Dragon-JAPW- 2/28/04
Ehhh...total spotfest here. Some decent stuff but overall no substance. Lethal looked good in limited action including a SICK double-underhook ddt finisher. Evans bumped like mad- his body can twist and turn in was that I cannot understand.
Samoa Joe vs. BJ Whitmer-IWA MS- 4/10/04
Decent match. Nothing more...nothing less. BJ didn't get in much offense.

Suprised you didnt think more of the 4 way! Well i'm a major spotfest fan who loves crazy CW stuff, so maybe thats why i found this so awesome.
Joe vs. Whitmer must have been Stiff-core!

Matt Sydal vs. Austin Aries- IWA MS- 6/11/04
This was REALLY good. Solid story with Sydal injured forearm and Austin breaking out some great heel tactics and armwork. I thought this was better than AJ vs. Sydal from a couple of months back. Sydal seems to be getting better and better as he is letting the match come to him more than in the past (i.e. he is breaking out his "cool" moves within the context of the match instead of just doing them for the hell of it). Aries is definitely a future star. He pulled out some great submissions/mat work and hit some nice innovative moves. Check this one out.
Chris Hero vs. CM Punk- IWA MS- 6/11/04
One more time...another chapter in the storied history of Hero vs. Punk. Great...great match that once again proves that these are two of the best technicians on the planet. AWESOME commentary by Dave Prazak and Samoa Joe during the match that really spiced up the Joe vs. Hero rivalry and added another dimension to the match IMO. Great stuff. Pick it up.
