As most of you remember I had you guys vote on two pretty recent shows for me to watch so I can form a definitive opinion about ROH. In return I offer you my gradual thoughts of the shows as I watch them. Starting off is Main Event Spectacles:
Match 1: Dan Maff vs. Colt Cabana Please tell me it gets better than this
Match 2: Xavier & Nigel McGinness vs. John Walters & Tony Mamaluke It's not getting any better
Match 3: Matt Stryker vs. Justin Credible Hey look it's Justin Credible. Too bad this match Justin sucked my balls. Haha...ha...oh boy.
Match 4: Briscoes vs. Izzy & Dixie Alright here we go! I really enjoyed this match as the Briscoes look like a pretty solid tag team and Special K was just fun to watch. Izzy looked like the better of the two and I couldn't tell which Briscoe was who, but they both looked good. My only complaint is the lack of creativity on the Briscoe's behalf during this match. They used like three different finishers from already established tag teams, plus AMW's Death Sentence looks better. Overall really fun match.
Match 5: Homicide defeated BJ Whitmer Easily the best singles match of the night so far. I was really pulling for Whitmer during this match, but Homicide won any way. I'm still confused as to why people like Homicide so much seeing as Whitmer looked exponentially better, but this was still a great singles match. Homicide's sloppy attempt at a vertabreaker looked sick.
Match 6: Tag cage scramble Three in a row! Yet another really fun match with some pretty sick moves. I can't really pick out any team that impressed me more than another as they all had stand out moments for the most part. Jack Evans is a crazy mother f**ker and I'll never get sick of watching the Spanish Fly.
More to come!

Hmm...you've got some weird opinions of them, I'd definitely say you like different things in your wrestling than I do, as I remember the first two matches being really good, and I just had to be picked up off the floor after my heart attack at reading the words "Whitmer looked exponentially better (than Homicide)". LOL either way, hope you enjoy the shows overall somewhat.

Take into account this is the first full match I've seen Homicide wrestle. He just spent sooo much time standing around that it bugged the crap out of me. Yeah some of the moves he did was cool, but he must have spent half the time just standing there after he did a move. He's not big enough to use a lariat as a finisher either. I guess his standing around with Julius Smokes yelling god knows what just bugged me. I guess it also bugged me that he didn't really take any moves, just dished them out and stood there while BJ looked like goddam superman. I know I'm rambling at this point, but he didn't show me anything that I couldn't see any other wrestler doing.

I was really disappointed in Briscoes vs. Special K but that's just me. On the other hand I really enjoyed the first 2 matches, while not classics they were a good show starter IMO.
And just for the record I did not tell you to get "At Our Best" (although there are 2 really solid matches on it).

And just for the record I did not tell you to get "At Our Best" (although there are 2 really solid matches on it). I'm aware of that. It only got one vote, but the second most votes next to MES only had 2 and since AOB was the newest tape I decided to get that to get an glimpse at newer ROH.

Match 7: Daniels vs. Joe vs. Corino vs. Punk I have officially seen Cock Master Punk's ROH work and it's the same stuff he did in TNA. Overall the match was OK but the ending was stupid having two winners. Daniels rocked my face as usual and Corino was pretty impressive, but Joe and Punk were just kind of there. I enjoyed Corino, but having one of his buddies sub in for him to take the BME kind of pissed me off. Main Event: AJ Styles vs. Am Drag Brian Danielson is officially the only person that can make watching AJ Styles boring. I'm a huge AJ fan but Daniels wrestles like this stuff is real. I'm all for counters, but countering every signature move just makes the match boring. Not a lot happend here besides about a billion European upper cuts and a bunch of kicks. What did I learn? To make a match as boring as possible simply do the same two moves on somebodys shoulder, then have them finish you off because their shoulder really doesn't have a lot to do with their finisher. Overall MES thoughts: This show was ok. I can't believe I saw a sleeper AJ Styles match, but it happened. Too bad I thought four of the eight matches were boring beyond belief or I might like this show more. I am glad that I watched it and I really did enjoy the four matches I liked. This being the first full ROH show I've watched I've concluded the following: - Joe is overrated
- Punk is overrated
- Special K is sweet
- Whitmer is better than Homicide
- Dan Maff is boring
- Cabana is better on the mic than in the ring
- The Spanish Fly still kicks ass
- Christopher Daniels rocks faces
- ROH has quite possibly the most annoying commentators ever
- Watching people play basketball while an interview is going on is really funny

Funny you say that because alot of people agree with the stuff you said. Exept the Joe, punk, Homicide stuff. I personally Love Maff

The only thing that contradicts this is your preference of BJ Whitmer over Homicide. However, it is hard for some to identify with a black/puerto rican wrestling character from the streets when wrestling fans are usually the exact opposite culturally (not saying it's a racist thing just saying it's hard to identify with them). BTW I thought the 4-way was very bland from everyone's perspective. It really didn't make anyone look good. I don't understand how you didn't like AmDrag vs. Styles. That's the best match anyone has dragged out of Styles in 2003 besides maybe Hero or London.

may-b he wasn't spotty enough? I don't think it's being spotty. But I think it's taking high-risks moves or doing crazy flippy stuff like AJ's quebrada into a DDT or Izzy flipping dropkick or SAT's Spanish Fly or Jack Evans double moonsault off the top of the cage. CM Punk and AmDrag are wrestlers, they wrestle and they are damn good at it. The other guys are great at being exciting but to me in the majority of their matches they are missing something. That something is what guys like CM Punk, and American Dragon bring to the table. To each his own. Now if you think that Punk makes AJ look boring during the "AOB" match then I will have issues.

Eh, why not. Here are some of those thoughts I felt like commenting on. [/li][li]Joe is overrated
I can certainly see where people could say that. He's not the god he's made out to be I don't think, but I enjoy his matches. [/li][li]Punk is overrated
Yeah, and Lucky Charms aren't amazing. [/li][li]Whitmer is better than Homicide
Well, Whitmer IS better than real-life homicide...cuz getting killed would seriously suck. [/li][li]ROH has quite possibly the most annoying commentators ever
INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch IWA Mid-South.

My big problem with the Danielson/AJ match wasn't the fact that it wasn't spotty, it's just that Danielson blocked every single signature move AJ had. The match itself didn't have a whole lot of offense, which made the ending seem odd because AJ had barely hit him. I can live without seeing the Spiral Tap and such because I do like to see some actual wrestling, but I thought this match was ridiculous. Danielson was out there fighting AJ like he didn't know this was pro wrestling. If I'm watching a Benoit match then I at least want to see one flying headbut, a three German combo, or at the very least those wicked cross chops. Wouldn't you be kind of dissapointed if you saw Benoit wrestle a match and you saw none of that because the only move his opponent wasn't blocking were kicks? I'm ok with AJ not wrestling an X-division type match, but in this match his moveset was limited to a few kicks. How hard is that? A-Train could have subbed in for AJ and the match wouldn't have changed one bit. It's not a matter of me enjoying high spots as much as enjoying watching one of my favorite wrestlers do what he does best. I will admit though that I laughed pretty hard when the commentators got up and left to go watch the match.
Oh and Voltage, Luck Charms only suck *this* much less than Punk. Mmm...cardboard marshmellows.
